NEET (National Eligibility and Entrance Test) is common entrance test to get admission in 600 medical colleges of india. Due to some Law loophole it was banned in 2013, for which biggest court of india "Supreme Court" has announced verdict in favor of NEET, now NEET will be conducted as per the schedule.

Update :- Central Government of India has passed Ordinance against Supreme court's decision to make NEET compulsory from this year. As per the ordinance passed by government, NEET (Common medical entrance test) is postponed for one year. Expect Delhi Govt (AAP), all state government supported Central govt's ordinance.

Update :- SC refuses to entertain a plea seeking modification of NEET order.Petition was filed by a group of students.Court says 'let the exams go on" on on 1st May, 2016. First Phase of NEET 2016 will be held on 1st May and 2nd phase (AIPMT) will held on 27th July, 2016.

Update :  After Supreme Court order (the latest news of 29th April, 2016), it is now clear that All India Pre Medical Test (AIPMT) exam (1st phase of NEET) will be conducted on 1st May, 2016 and NEET 2016 to be conducted on May 1st, 2016. While 2nd phase of NEET (AIPMT) will be conducted on 27th July, 2016.

Honorable supreme Court refused to put Stay on NEET, it will go as per schedule.

Update :- After Supreme Court allowed to conduct NEET, Maharashtra Government Still prefer to hold MH-CET for 2016. Reason given by Maharashtra Education minister Vinod Tawde is that NEET is based on CBSE course while they are yet to upgrade HSC Syllabus, and Maharashtra most probably join NEET by 2017. [Source] 

On 18th July, 2013, 3 judge bench has ordered cancellation of NEET Entrance Test. In 2013, SC has rejected NEET with reason given was "needs reconsideration" as "the majority view has not taken into consideration some binding precedents". The verdict was given by 2:1 judge bench lead by Justice Dave.

Today on 11th April, 2016, 5 judge bench (includes A K Sikri, R K Agrawal, Adarsh Kumar Goel and R Banumathiordered) has given verdict to allow NEET Entrance Exam as it is in favor of Students. "Suffice it is to mention that the majority view has not taken into consideration some binding precedents and more particularly, we find that there was no discussion among the members of the Bench before pronouncement of the judgment," the apex court said."

With NEET, no need to given different entrance test for different state university, now if you want admission in Medical courses like MBBS,BDS or post graduate medical courses, you need to appear in single entrance exam, NEET. CBSE Board (Central Board of Secondary Education of india) used to conduct NEET Entrance exam till 2013 and more than lakhs of students every year appeared in NEET.

This year it is likely that NEET 2016 won't be conducted as the entrance exam of almost all states were conducted or to go with per-scheduled. But most probably next year students can appear for NEET Exam. If you are preparing for any medial exams, it is one of the best decision for you people,you need to appear for one test only instead of multiple tests.

In absence of NEET, CBSE used to conduct AIPMT to give admissions in centralize universities of india. Medical council of india had raised questions on NEET, which is cleared now by Supreme court of india.
